Bainbridge Island Emergency Flotilla

Boaters would support emergency response by transporting essential staff to keep city operations going: emergency workers, building inspectors, electricians. We may also be called to transport goods to the island. For that reason, we’d love to see all size vessels, located on and off the island, moored in wet or dry locations. To volunteer your boat, dock or van for future Emergency Flotilla activities, contact Tami Allen, Harbormaster, at 780-3733 or send email.

Natural Landscapes Project

We are a nonprofit organization striving to protect human health, water quality and the environment by providing educational outreach to our community. We teach people about the hazards of using chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides while also promoting organic gardening methods and natural lawn care.

“Property is surely a right of mankind as real as liberty,” John Adams
Gifford Pinchot, first Chief of the U.S. Forest Service, declared in 1907 that "conservation is the wise use of resources." Over time, "conservation" has come to mean not using resources at all. Ours is one of many groups that are working to promote an ethic which recognizes that human beings, like all animals, do use resources. And virtue lies in avoiding unnecessary harm to the environment.
